The 2010-2011 school year is right around the corner, and GO Public Schools has the information you need to start out strong!
Superintendent Smith and the OUSD Board of Education are embarking on a new strategic direction, unanimously approved at a Board meeting in June 2010. To learn more about the details and strategies of this vision, including time lines for implementation, click here.
Teachers! As
OUSD employees, you are members of the Oakland Education Association,
Oakland's teachers union. Did you know that school site representatives
are generally elected during the first weeks of the school year? Do
you know who's running at your school site? Have you considered
running? Talk to your site rep to find out more, or contact OEA leadership to learn how to get involved! Parents! Click here for the 2010-2011 Parent Handbook,
and see below for other important information. Did you know that each
Oakland school has a School Site Council (SSC) comprised of parents and
school staff? This group reviews and revises the school's Single Plan
for Student Achievement - from instructional focus to family engagement
strategies - and determines how funds should be spent at the school.
